Iran FM arrives in New York for UNSC meeting on Palestine

During the trip, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is planned to deliver a speech at the Security Council meeting, meet with the Secretary General of the United Nations, hold talks with the ambassadors of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the sidelines of the United Nations meeting. 

Speaking to reporters upon arrival at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, the top Iranian diplomat said that, "Today, the meeting of the Security Council will be held to review the developments in West Asia and focus on the Palestinian issue at the level of foreign ministers."

Stating that the situation in Gaza has reached a boiling point, he added that, "The spillover of this situation is clearly visible in the region and in the developments in the region."

The foreign minister continued that, "It is an opportunity to explain Iran's views in line with the necessity of establishing lasting peace and security in the region and using the opportunity to hold talks with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and counterparts as well as some senior managers of international organizations to discuss stopping the war and sending humanitarian aid, and other issues related to Palestine and the security of the region."
