Leader forms Iran's Supreme Cyberspace Council
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday ordered formation of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace and appointed members of it. Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the remarkable influence of the Internet in social and individual aspects of life and called for adoption of suitable programs and use of opportunities to grant more services to the public. "The Council is duty bound to establish a center titled "National Center of the Cyberspace Center," IR Leader added. The legal members of the council are President as the head of the Council, Majlis speaker, the Judiciary chief, head of IRIB, secretary of the Supreme Council, minister of Communication and Information Technology and minister of Intelligence. The council should supervise both domestic and foreign virtual space and adopt decisions in this regard.
