Pilot dies following light plane crash in Australia

At about 7:15 a.m. local time, a gyrocopter plunged to the ground at a private property on Snipey Road in Goulburn Weir, located about 145 km north of Melbourne, Xinhua reported.

Victoria Police confirmed in a statement that there were two people on board.

"The yet-to-be-formally identified pilot died at the scene and his passenger was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," the police said.

At the current stage, the exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
