Magnitude 5 earthquake strikes southern Iran

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the 5 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:01 a.m. local time on Monday near Ghale Ghazi city in Hormozgan province at a depth of 15 kilometers.

The epicentre of the quake was located at 56.27 degrees longitude and 27.58 degrees latitude.

The earthquake was felt also in Bandar Abbas.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
