Leader: Massive elections turnout crushes enemies

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that lively turnout of the people in the upcoming election will strike another blow to the enemy. Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with thousands of theologians and students of theological center of Qom to mark anniversary of the uprising in the holy city against the deposed shah in 1978. IR Leader said that all officials and candidates must respect their commitments to the law and prepare the ground for a healthy and competitive parliamentary election in March. Ayatollah Khamenei termed the uprising in Qom in 1978 as a turning point for the historical events worldwide. Ayatollah Khamenei said that insight and patience were the key elements for victory of the Islamic Revolution and that two major factors guaranteed sustainable power of Iranian nation: Firm insistence of the Islamic Republic of Iran on its principles and the people's vigilance and presence on the scene.

Ayatollah Khamenei dismissed the current sanctions on Iran comparing it to a boycott imposed on Infallible Household of Messenger of Allah Hazrate Muhammad (PBUH) after his appointment to prophethood She'b Abi-Taleb. IR Leader honored the uprising of the holy city of Qom and said that it gathered momentum for the popular movement in the suppressive security atmosphere created by the deposed regime. 'January 9 uprising in Qom was the beginning of other demonstrations in other cities which led to victory of the Islamic Revolution and broke the frightening image of the US and the Zionist regime and made the Iranian nation become a model for other nations and emergence of the Islamic Awakening movements in the region. Elsewhere in his address, Ayatollah Khamenei elaborated on the two elements of success of Iranian nation – patience and insight- saying that insight means not to lose the way and goal and not to be misled and patience means firm insistence on the path by the generations to come and it is the art of the Islamic Revolution that mobilized the people to keep up with the two factors.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the enemies led by the US and the Zionists have made every endeavor to undermine the two factors of insight and patience, but, thank God they will get nowhere as long as the nation stood firm
