Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah named Emir of Kuwait

Kuwait's crown prince, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was named the oil-rich country's new emir after the death of his predecessor Sheikh Nawaf on Saturday, Xinhua reports.

Kuwait's ruling Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, according to the Kuwaiti royal court.

A couple of weeks ago, Sheikh Nawaf was admitted to a hospital due to an emergency health issue but it was later declared that his condition stabilized.
