Iranian athlete lost the game against Mark Selby 6-5 and was eliminated from the tournament.

Earlier, Vafaei defeated his Chinese rival Gong Chenzhi 6-1 to face Selby.

The 2023 Shanghai Masters is being held in China from September 11-17.

Some 16 stars from various countries are competing at the prestigious event.
