Letter: Break cycle of retaliation to ease Mideast violence

Israeli leaders urged the United States to invade Iraq, to bomb Syria and arm Sunni insurgents there (yes, the ones now sweeping across Iraq), and to attack Iran. I was saddened that Andrew J. Groveman is urging the U.S. government to become even more militarily aggressive in that region (July 5 “My Thoughts” column, “U.S. foreign policy in need of revisions”).
