Iranian pilgrims injured in fire in Najaf hotel (+ VIDEO)

The local Iraqi media reported a fire in a 6-story hotel in the holy city of Najaf on Tuesday. The reports said that the name of the hotel is Qasre al-Shafa'a.

Alsumaria TV news website reported that dozens of people, including several Iranians, were injured in this fire incident.

The firefighters were immediately dispatched to the area to put out the fire and evacuated the people trapped inside the hotel.

Later reports suggested that as many as 70 people were injured in the fire by suffocating smoke and were taken to a hospital in Najaf, of which some were Iranian pilgrims.
