At least 6 killed in Afghanistan's Mazar-i-Sharif bus bombing

Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday, citing an Afghan official that at least six people were killed and 15 others wounded in Mazar-i-Sharif.

Police confirmed a blast took place on a bus carrying oil workers in Balkh province.

The explosion took place around 7 am local time, a police spokesperson told AFP.

The bus was carrying employees of Hairatan Oil company.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.

At least 19 people were killed in an explosion at a religious school in the northern city of Aybak last week.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for several attacks.
