Iran says detained Danish student released

> "The Danish student was released following the end of investigations," IRNA said, quoting a judiciary official. Security forces clashed with supporters of Iran's opposition leader Mirhossein Mousavi when they used the anti-U.S. rallies to revive protests against the clerical establishment after a June 12 presidential vote. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, locked in a row with the West over Iran's nuclear program, won a second term. The turmoil after the June vote was the worst in Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution. Authorities deny rigging the voting and portrayed the unrest as a foreign-backed bid to undermine the Islamic state. Iran charged on Monday with espionage three U.S. citizens, held after they strayed into Iran from northern Iraq at the end of July. (Writing by Parisa Hafezi; editing by Matthew Jones)
