Arab League's ultimatum

The Arab League has given Syria 24 hours to sign an initiative to end its military crackdown on pro-democracy protests. Arab foreign ministers backed the deadline with new sanctions, including an asset freeze and travel ban on 19 top officials and associates of President Bashar al-Assad.
