American Muslims' lives were altered by 9/11 attacks

When Heidi Elneil was a little girl growing up in Moorpark, her faith came up in school only when her mother visited her classroom once a year to read a book about the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. That changed on Sept. 11, 2001, after which the middle school student found herself subjected to taunts from classmates.
