NATO policies, source of Afghan problems
IRIB News
IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the problems of the present world, including those of Afghanistan, stem from the expansionist policies of NATO member states, adding that the problems remain nearly insolvable as long as the policies linger. The president said the Islamic Republic will remain side by side the friendly and brotherly nation of Afghanistan and will back any supportive resolutions for the nation, adding however that a major question must be answered that is whether the country's problems would be solved through such supportive measures alone. "We must answer what the cause of all the pains and homelessness of the Afghan nation is; why they are killed at their homes; why their sanctities are blasphemed," the president enquired. President Ahmadinejad said the situation in Afghanistan was one of outcomes of the current world management, adding that similar situations also exist in Iraq, Palestine, Africa, South America and parts of Asia where NATO forces are present. The president said the existing problems of the world stem from the NATO's willingness to revive and keep dominance over the victim countries, adding he offers the countries to change their hostile policies in a bid to help Afghan people in true terms. "The change would benefit the NATO governments in the first place," he added. The IRI president also offered the NATO member states to withdraw forces from Afghanistan in the shortest time possible to allow the Afghan government and nation to run their own affairs. "If so, the problem of terrorism and drugs dealing will be resolved very soon," he added. The president also offered the NATO member states to allocate 25 percent of their annual military spending in Afghanistan or five percent of their annual military budget for ten years to help the Afghan government. "The Afghan nation can prove how they are adept in building their own country. NATO states' populations too favor such an approach to Afghanistan," the president said. As for his fourth and final proposal for Afghanistan, the president said the world needs a new world order where the rights of nations are respected and the nations are allowed to establish relations based on justice and affection. "Such an order could only be materialized if all nations are involved and good intention rules," he said.
