IRI spokesman welcomes any lifting of sanctions

IRI Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday that lifting of illegal anti-Iran sanctions would be a correct approach the West cantake to make up for its past mistakes. Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Mehmanparast said any kind of sanctions on Iran will be considered as a negative step taken by the West. Referring to the second round of nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1 to be held in Baghdad on May 23, he said any decision made by the US and European officials would affect the Baghdad negotiations. Asked about the US new sanctions on Iran, Mehmanparast said such moves will otherwise accelerate the pace of Iran’s progress.
