Saudi Foreign Ministry released a statement on Saturday 19 October  rejecting the seat in the Security Council.  a day after it had won a Security Council seat for the first time after two years of intensive diplomatic efforts . While according  NYT  the decision demonstrate  Saudi anger about  uselessness of a seat on the Security Council, where Russia and China have the upper hand in Syrian issue , some others relate the  decision  to a fear of a nuclear deal between Iran and the West , which make them more exposed to their greatest regional rival .
