Earthquake off Kish shakes UAE buildings

Buildings shook in the UAE after a magnitude-5.6 tremor struck 30 miles off the coast of Kish Island early morning on Wednesday. The US Geological Survey (usgs) reported the mild quake hit close to the Iranian island at around 5am UAE time. The USGS located the quake epicentre in Southern Iran, some 50km west-south-west of the Kish Island and 229km north-north-west of Abu Dhabi.
