The chairman of the Iraqi election commission announced the preliminary results of the parliamentary election in ten provinces.

Jalil Adnan announced the results of elections in the provinces of Diyala, Diwaniyah, Muthanna, Maysan, Wasit, Dohuk, Saladin, Karbala, Najaf and Erbil.

The commission said the turnout was 41%.

Adnan said that as many as 9,077,779 votes were cast in the ballot boxes while 22,116,328 people were eligible to vote.

Preliminary results of the elections in Najaf province showed a victory for the Sadr alliance and the independent candidates, while in Karbala the Sadr and independents Fath, as well as the State of Law, have secured the most numbers of seats. 

In Wasit Province, the Sadr alliance and the independents have the most votes, while in Muthanna Province, the State of Law was ahead.
