US approves F-16 fighter jet sale to Turkey worth $23 bn

The deal includes modernization kits for 79 existing Turkish F-16s.

The US State Department told Congress it had also approved the sale of 40 F-35 fighters to Greece, costing $8.6bn.

US President Joe Biden then urged that the F-16 sales be approved without delay, according to BBC.
